What is Psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy services are unique for each individual. The goal is to meet you at the level you are at and provide counseling services focusing on your specific needs. Therapy is available for all ages from children to adults and can even work with couples and entire family units. Here at LodeStone, we offer psychotherapy services for adults, adolescents, and children in both individual and family settings, as well as couples therapy.

What are the benefits of psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy helps you learn new ways to handle problems, builds your ability to manage stress, improves symptoms, and can help improve family relationships. Counseling can also help you gain a better understanding of the underlying causes of our difficulties and provide objective feedback from a highly trained and licensed professional.

Some common benefits include:

  • Improved communication skills and ability to connect with others
  • Greater acceptance of ourselves and improved self-esteem
  • Improved ability to manage difficult feelings and express them in healthy ways (e.g., anger, sadness, disappointment)
  • Relief from depression, anxiety, or other mental health diagnoses

How do I get started?

The first step is to contact us to get an appointment set up with a therapist. They can help diagnose the problem, recommend a specific intervention (therapy, medications, or both), and answer questions about the process. If you have questions, and would like to speak to one of our mental health professionals, simply fill out our contact form and someone from the office will be in touch with you shortly or you can contact us by phone at 847-802-4058.
