Biography:
Sam is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and Clinician at The Lodestone Center. She obtained her Master’s Degree (MA) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Roosevelt University. Sam has worked in a variety of settings including: residential, community-based (ACT, CST, CSI), partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs. This has allowed her the opportunity to provide therapy to individuals, couples, and families, as well as provide psycho-education and therapy in group based formats.
Therapeutic Focus & Approach:
Sam specializes in the treatment of depression, anxiety, bipolar, psychosis, focus/attention, adjustment, and personality disorders using evidenced-based treatment modalities including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Sam believes building a safe, non-judgemental, trusting, and collaborative therapist-client relationship is an essential part of the therapeutic process. She views her clients from an empowerment-focused, holistic, person-centered, multicultural, and spectrum-based perspective.
