Biography:

Dr. Samantha Kurkjian is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Sport Psychologist who earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) and Sport Psychology from the Arizona School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University in Phoenix, Arizona. Sam works clinically with adults 18 and over and provides sport and performance services to athletes and performers of all ages.

Therapeutic Focus & Approach:

Sam’s emphasis is on building a trusting therapeutic alliance with curiosity, support, and validation in order to explore and acknowledge how various aspects of a person’s cultural identities might influence their mental health. She uses an integrated approach to clinical services, incorporating Multicultural, Psychodynamic, Interpersonal (IPT), Cognitive-Behavioral (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral (DBT) theories and interventions to address a wide range of mental health and performance concerns.
