Mental Health and Wellness Services offered at our Hinsdale location:

Individual Counseling

Individual Counseling (sometimes referred to as “talk therapy”), is a mainstay of treatment for mental health.  It can help people transition through many of life’s most challenging situations. We have counselors that work with every age and we are able to help guide you through the process of finding the right person to work with.  The LodeStone Center for Behavioral Health is comprised of clinicians that are experts in the field of mental health.

Marriage and Couples Counseling

Every relationship will experience some degree of conflict. If this conflict becomes excessive or severe, the stress can impact every member of the family and can put a strain on every aspect of daily life.

Luckily, LodeStone Center is here to help! We have multiple therapists that specialize in family therapy and issues specific to couples. Let a trained clinician help guide you and to help re-establish a healthy connection in your relationship can help get things back on track.

Counseling for Children and Adolescents

Children and adolescents don’t have the same needs as adults.  They express emotion in very different ways throughout their development. Our child and adolescent therapists train in specialized forms of therapy that help young kids express themselves, and help teens acquire the emotional coping skills they need to navigate the challenges of young adulthood.

Parents frequently express how helpful it can be to benefit from an outside perspective when dealing with the challenging issues that come up in raising a family. Finding a clinician you trust is a crucial part of finding effective help for your child or teen, and we’re here to help guide you through every step along the way!

FAQ’s

How long does counselling take?

The typical length of counselling varies considerably based on a number of factors, but usually ranges from weeks to months. Some issues improve in a short timeframe (4-6 weeks), and others require consistent effort over many months (or longer). Your first counselling visit provides an opportunity for your clinician to get a sense of the history behind your concerns, and we should be able to give you a reasonable plan of action in the first visit. You will play an active role in deciding the plan for your therapy along the way.

When would I need to specifically see a Psychologist?

Psychologists perform the same types of psychotherapy that counselors do, with some additional services when needed. They are highly trained in psychological assessment (testing) and sometimes offer a range of diagnostic services for physicians and other mental health providers. Psychologists may have additional specializations provided during their doctoral education that they list in their staff profile. Counselors often pursue specializations as well, either during, or after their graduate education. Your intake coordinator can help you find a good fit for the concerns that bring you to us for services, based on what you discuss in your initial call.

Our intake coordinator for The Lodestone Center,  located at 15 Spinning Wheel Rd in Hinsdale can help guide you through your first visit, and help pair you with the right person.
