We have counselors that work with every age and we are able to help guide you through the process of finding the right person to work with.
Couples Counseling
Every relationship experiences some degree of conflict. When conflict becomes excessive or severe, the stress can impact every member of the family and can put a strain on every aspect of daily life. We’re here to help! The LodeStone Center for Behavioral Health has multiple therapists that specialize in family therapy and issues specific to couples. Having a trained clinician to help guide your communication strategies and to help re-establish a healthy connection in your relationship can help get things back on track.
Psychological Testing and Diagnostic Assessment
Clinical psychologists are highly trained specialists in the area of diagnostic assessment and testing. All psychologists have doctoral-level training in the use of a wide range of psychological tests designed to help guide treatment. The LodeStone Center for Behavioral Health has clinical psychologists with a wide range of specialty training, and we can provide diagnostic assistance to strengthen your overall treatment plan. Whether the goal is to aid education planning or medication selection, we can provide valuable input with the most advanced diagnostic tools in the field. Our psychological testing services are frequently utilized by counselors and psychiatrists in the community to help make their own services more effective, and we are happy to coordinate with your treatment providers.

Counseling for Children and Teens
Children and teens have very different needs than adults and express emotion in very different ways throughout their development. Our child and adolescent therapists train in specialized forms of therapy that help young kids express themselves, and help teens acquire the emotional coping skills they need to navigate the challenges of young adulthood. Parents frequently express how helpful it can be to benefit from an outside perspective when dealing with the challenging issues that come up in raising a family. Our clinic is fortunate to have several experts in specific mental health issues that occur early in life, and we’re able to provide diagnostic testing when needed to aid in treatment planning. Finding a clinician you trust is a crucial part of finding effective help for your child or teen, and we’re here to help guide you through every step along the way!

How long does counselling take?
Counseling typically entails meeting with a trained counselor or Psychologist one-on-one for approximately an hour on a regular basis (weekly or so) until your symptoms improve. Your counselor provided a trained, objective perspective on the thoughts, behaviors and patterns that may contribute to, or may help alleviate the issues that you’re struggling with. Counseling has been show to be as effective as medication for many mental health issues, and is used to help a wide range of concerns. Meeting with a counselor for the first time can seem daunting, but quickly becomes comfortable often within the first visit.
