Biography
Dr. Schultz is the Co-Founder, along with Dr. Jeremy Bidwell, of The LodeStone Center for Behavioral Health. As both a Clinical and Developmental Psychologist, Dr. Schultz considers the personal, relational, social, spiritual, and cultural factors that influence our psychological health and physical well-being. Dr. Schultz provides therapeutic services to individuals across the life span who seek help coping with a wide range of concerns, including: all forms of mood and anxiety disorders and other psychological challenges related to (1) unexpected deaths by injury, acute disease processes, or suicide and other forms of trauma/loss; (2) cognitive/physical changes in health status for self or loved ones (due to acute and/or chronic life stresses); (3) significant developmental and life cycle transitions (e.g., changes in social, relational, occupational, or economic status); (4) caretaking responsibilities for parents, children, or other family members; (5) psychological harm as a result of stereotyping, prejudice, and/or discrimination; and (6) personal growth-focused work.
Dr. Schultz also specializes in assisting individuals of all ages with neurodivergent characteristics, developmental challenges, and complex neurocognitive problems, including persons within the high-functioning Autism Spectrum, ADHD, OCD, and Tourette Syndrome. Therapeutic approaches include empirically-based Cognitive-Behavioral interventions, as well as solution-oriented, client-focused, and mindfulness-based work. Dr. Schultz is a consultant for physician well-being programs and support services, including psychoeducation and therapeutic services to address the unique challenges of physicians, other medical professionals, and their families. Dr. Schultz also provides leadership consultative services regarding professional development for entrepreneurs, business leaders, and not-for-profit organizations. Dr. Schultz also is an Adjunct Psychology Faculty Member at Dominican University and a Professional Educator for mental health, medical, academic, and business professionals (on such topics as neurodiversity, prevention of burnout, fostering resiliency, caretaking for caretakers, and practice development and management).
