The LodeStone Center for Behavioral Health provides a variety of types of therapy for treating Eating Disorders. A number of our current clinicians specialize in the treatment of eating disorders and work in a partnership with our Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. It is our goal to match you with a therapist that will best fit your needs and provide you with the best care possible. If you would like more information, or would like to request a first visit with a therapist, you can either fill out the contact form on this page and we will get in touch with you or you can also call us directly at 847-802-4058.

What are Eating Disorders?

One of the most challenging problems faced by many adolescents and adults is the struggle to value one’s own self-image. For some, the inability to feel worthwhile, beautiful, and accepted can lead to self-destructive and addictive behaviors that can take years to break free from. Eating Disorders develop for a number of reasons. Genetics, the media, or pressure to be perfect can all combine to develop an eating disorder. Eating Disorders are fueled by intense anxiety and are very difficult for the person suffering with an eating disorder and those that love them. Eating Disorders don’t discriminate. They can impact children, adults, men, women, and athletes.

What Kind of Therapy Do You Have?

We offer outpatient psychotherapy services, along with dietitian and nutrition services, for Eating Disorders. Patients meet with a Clinical Psychologist or Professional Counselor on a weekly or bi-weekly basis for hourly sessions and attend weekly sessions with our Dietitian. In the event that a more intensive form of treatment is needed, our clinicians work with several programs in the area and can help determine if a referral for an Intensive Outpatient Program or Hospitalization is necessary.

TeleHealth At Home Counseling and Psychotherapy

Telehealth, or “teletherapy” is a highly effective method of accessing care that is particularly useful for people in remote work positions, those with transportation issues or for those that live a significant distance from a provider they would like to see. Telehealth comprises approximately 60% of the care delivered by The LodeStone Center and we utilize one of the easiest to access and highest quality platforms for our telehealth calls (Zoom for Healthcare). It’s easy to use, secure and available on any computer, tablet or phone. Psychotherapy, counseling and medication management are all accessible through our telehealth option, and every provider at The LodeStone Center is available through telehealth. Our registration process is entirely online, and many services are available within a few days.
